A Facebook Page With 10,000 Followers Earns About Five Reactions Per Post
That is not pessimism, it is the median. Rival IQ measured 2,100 companies and found the middle Facebook post earns engagement from 0.046 percent of followers. On Instagram it is 0.36 percent. Your follower count is not an audience, and chasing it is how most budgets get spent.
Our social media marketing services in Delhi and across India start from the opposite end: which platform your buyers actually use, what content supports a sale, and how we will know whether any of it worked. Usually that means posting on fewer platforms, less often, with more thought.

The difference a plan makes
What Changes When Social Media Has an Actual Job to Do
Without a Reason to Post
- ✗A calendar with no objectiveTwenty posts a month because the retainer says twenty, none of which anyone could tell you the purpose of.
- ✗Every platform at onceFacebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and YouTube on one budget, which means all five are done badly and none is measured.
- ✗Followers as the metricThe number goes up, usually through giveaways and follow-backs, and none of those accounts will ever buy anything.
- ✗Creative that changes weeklyA different font and colour every month, so nothing accumulates into recognition and the feed looks like five companies.
- ✗No idea which post did anythingNo link tracking, no destination, no attribution, so the only honest answer to what worked is nobody knows.
With One in Place
- ✓One or two platforms, properlyChosen because your buyers are there, not because the platform exists. Everything else gets dropped without apology.
- ✓Content tied to what you sellPillars built from real buying questions, objections and proof, so posts have somewhere to lead.
- ✓A visual systemOne template family, one type and colour scheme, so the fifth post reinforces the first instead of competing with it. See graphic design.
- ✓A cadence you can sustainEight good posts a month beats twenty filler ones. The median company in the Rival IQ data posts about 4.5 times a week on Instagram, and most of it is noise.
- ✓Measurement on enquiriesTracked links, a destination that converts, and a monthly report that names what produced contact.
Why this matters now
What the Research Actually Says
We publish sources instead of adjectives. All four of these are measurements from published datasets rather than agency claims, and two of them are inconvenient for anyone selling social media management.
500mn
Social media user identities in India
DataReportal put India at 500 million social media user identities in October 2025, equal to 34.1 percent of the population, against 1.03 billion internet users. Note the wording: identities, not people. One person with accounts on four platforms counts four times, which is why audience claims built on this number are usually inflated.
0.046%
Median Facebook engagement rate per post, by follower
Rival IQ analysed 2,100 companies, 150 from each of 14 industries, using 2024 data. The median Facebook post earned engagement from 0.046 percent of the page’s followers. For a page with 10,000 followers that is roughly five reactions, comments or shares per post.
0.36%
Median Instagram engagement rate per post, by follower
From the same dataset. Instagram runs about eight times better than Facebook for the median company, which is the strongest argument for choosing platforms deliberately rather than posting everywhere.
4.5
Median posts per week on Instagram among those companies
Also Rival IQ. Worth holding next to the engagement figure: the median company posts four to five times a week and still earns engagement from roughly a third of one percent of its followers. Posting more is not the lever most people think it is.

Engagement rate here means engagements divided by followers, per post, which is the standard definition in that report.
Run This Check on Your Own Last Ten Posts
Open your own feed and look at the last ten posts. Five questions, ten minutes, and it will tell you more than a paid audit.
- For each post, say out loud what it was meant to achieve
- Check how many of your recent followers are customers rather than vendors and competitors
- Count how many posts link anywhere at all
- Find which post got the most saves and shares, not likes
- Count the enquiries from social you can actually trace
If you cannot state the purpose of six of the ten, the calendar is running the strategy. If no post links anywhere, social is a cost centre by design. And if saves and shares cluster on one type of post, you have just found your content pillar, which is usually the most useful ten minutes anyone spends on this.
Our process
A Seven Step Social Media Process
Objective and Audience
What social is for: enquiries, recruitment, credibility before a sales call, or customer service. These need different content, and a retainer that tries to do all four does none. We also establish who we are talking to, specifically enough to exclude people.
Platform Selection, by Subtraction
We start from every platform and remove the ones your buyers are not on or you cannot sustain. Most clients end on one or two. This step saves more money than any other and is the one agencies skip, because fewer platforms means a smaller retainer.
Content Pillars
Four or five recurring themes drawn from real buying questions, objections, proof and process, so there is always something to say that is not a festival greeting.
Visual System
A template family, type and colour rules, and formats sized per platform, so posts accumulate into recognition rather than reading as unrelated.
Cadence and Calendar
A frequency you can hold for twelve months, agreed against capacity rather than ambition. Then a rolling calendar with approvals built in.
Publish and Engage
Scheduling, plus actually replying. Comments and DMs are where the enquiries hide, and unanswered ones are the most common leak we find.
Measure and Cut
Tracked links, a destination that converts, and a monthly read on what produced contact. The output of this step is usually a list of things to stop doing.
Organic Posting, Paid Social and Founder-Led Posting Are Different Jobs
Three different jobs that get sold as one line item. They reach different people, cost differently, and fail differently. Most businesses we talk to need less of the first and more of the third.
| Organic company page | Paid social | Founder-led posting | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reaches | A fraction of your own followers | Anyone you can target | Your network and theirs |
| Cost shape | Monthly retainer | Retainer plus ad spend | Mostly founder time |
| Time to first result | Three to six months | Days | Six to twelve weeks |
| What it compounds | Slowly, and platform dependent | Nothing, it stops when spend stops | Personal credibility, which travels |
| Main failure mode | Posting to almost nobody | Spending on audiences that never buy | Founder stops after three weeks |
We sell all three, so read the table with appropriate suspicion. The honest version: for most B2B businesses in India, a company page on Facebook or Instagram is the weakest of the three, and the founder posting under their own name on LinkedIn is the strongest. That is an awkward recommendation for an agency, because it needs your time rather than only our retainer. See LinkedIn personal branding and personal brand development. If you need enquiries this month rather than this year, paid campaigns are the right instrument.
What you get
What a Social Media Retainer Delivers
No line item that simply says social media management. This is what is actually produced each month and handed over.
Account and content audit
What is there now, what performed, what to stop. Including the uncomfortable finding when the current activity has produced nothing.
Platform recommendation
Which one or two to run and which to abandon, with the reasoning written down so it can be challenged.
Content pillars
Four or five themes with example posts, so the calendar is never filled at the last minute.
Monthly content calendar
Planned, approved in advance, with room for anything timely that actually matters to your buyers.
Designed creatives
Posts, carousels and reel covers built on one visual system, sized correctly per platform.
Captions and copy
Written for the platform, with a point and a destination rather than a hashtag block.
Publishing and scheduling
Handled, in your accounts, with a record of what went out when.
Community management
Comments and DMs answered within an agreed window, with genuine enquiries routed to you immediately.
Monthly report on enquiries
Two pages: what we published, what it produced, what we are changing. Follower growth is listed, not celebrated.
Who This Is Built For
Social media earns its cost where your buyers genuinely spend time, and where the content can do something other than exist.
B2B manufacturers and industrial firms
Where LinkedIn and a credible founder voice do almost all the work, and an Instagram grid does very little.
Professional services
Law, consulting, finance and advisory, where buyers check whether you sound competent before they call.
Healthcare practices and clinics
Patient education, procedure explainers and local trust signals, under advertising rules that genuinely matter.
Education
Admission cycles, parent facing content and student voices, with heavy seasonality.
Retail, D2C and ecommerce
Where visual content directly drives sales and an Instagram marketing agency India brands work with earns its fee on creative volume and speed.
Founders building a personal brand
Often the highest return of anything on this page, and the hardest to outsource completely.
Businesses posting daily with nothing to show
You have two years of content and no enquiries. The first job is working out whether the platform, the content or the destination is wrong.
What actually changes
What Changes in the Business, Not Just the Feed
Not promises about reach or virality. These are the mechanical changes a properly run retainer produces, and why.
Fewer platforms, better output
The same budget spread across two channels instead of five buys noticeably better creative and actual community management.
Your brand becomes recognisable
One visual system means the fifth post builds on the first. Recognition is the only thing organic social reliably compounds.
Sales can reuse the content
Explainers, objection handling and proof posts get sent directly to prospects, which is often where social content earns most of its value.
You can tell what worked
Tracked links and a real destination mean the monthly conversation is about evidence rather than impressions.
What the First Six Months Actually Look Like
This is the shape of a typical Standard retainer. It is an illustration of how the work runs, not a case study, and no client results are implied by it.
Month 1
Audit, objective, platform decision and content pillars. Visual templates built. Usually we recommend dropping at least one platform this month, which is the first thing that saves you money.
Month 2
First full month of publishing on the agreed cadence, with tracking and a real destination in place. Engagement is normally flat. Anyone showing you a hockey stick in month two is showing you a giveaway.
Month 3
Enough data to see which pillar earns saves and shares rather than likes. The calendar shifts toward it and away from the posts that only we liked.
Months 4 to 6
The content that works gets repeated and deepened. If the founder is posting too, this is usually when their reach overtakes the company page, and we say so plainly.
Month 6 review
An honest read on whether this channel is earning its cost. If it is not, the recommendation may be to cut the retainer and move the budget to paid or to the website. We have made that recommendation before.
Ongoing
Maintain the system, expand what works, and keep the quarterly question open about whether to continue.

What Social Media Marketing Costs With Us
Ask about social media marketing packages in India and you will be quoted INR 5,000 a month by one agency and INR 1,50,000 by another. The cheap end is a template filled with stock images by someone managing forty accounts. As a social media marketing agency India wide, here is what we charge, in INR with an approximate USD equivalent, so you can judge the range before you hire a social media marketing agency Delhi businesses recommend rather than after.
Starter
One platform, done properly. Honest scope: a consistent presence and a visual system, not a growth programme.
- ✓One platform
- ✓Eight to ten posts a month
- ✓Visual template system
- ✓Captions written
- ✓Scheduling and publishing
- ✓Monthly report
- ✓Rolling, one month notice
Standard
The common choice. Two platforms, including video formats, with community management and real measurement.
- ✓Two platforms
- ✓Sixteen to twenty posts a month
- ✓Reels or short video, two to four a month
- ✓Community management, comments and DMs
- ✓Tracked links and conversion destination
- ✓Monthly report on enquiries
- ✓Quarterly strategy review
Full
For brands where social is a primary channel: higher creative volume, video, and paid campaign management alongside organic.
- ✓Everything in Standard
- ✓Two to three platforms at higher volume
- ✓Video production coordination
- ✓Paid social campaign management
- ✓Influencer and collaboration outreach
- ✓Monthly working session with your team
- ✓Ad spend billed separately, never marked up
Ad spend is always separate and goes directly to the platform. We do not take a percentage of it, because that rewards us for spending more of your money. What moves the retainer price: number of platforms, how much video is involved, whether photography is needed, approval layers on your side, and language count. On social media management cost per month, treat anything under about INR 10,000 with suspicion: at that price one person is running dozens of accounts and your feed is being filled rather than managed.
What We Will Not Promise You
This is the easiest service in the world to fake, because activity looks like progress. Here is what we will not say to win the work.
- ✗We will not promise follower growth or viralityBoth are largely outside anyone’s control, and follower counts can be bought for a few hundred rupees, which tells you exactly what they are worth. We commit to the work and the measurement.
- ✗We will not buy followers, likes or engagementIt inflates the number you are judged on and poisons the audience data every future decision depends on. If a competitor’s numbers look impossible, they often are.
- ✗We will not post daily to fill a calendarFrequency is not the lever. The Rival IQ data shows the median company posting four to five times a week on Instagram for engagement from roughly a third of one percent of followers. We would rather publish eight good posts than twenty forgettable ones.
- ✗We will not run five platforms on one budgetSpreading a small retainer across every channel guarantees all of them are mediocre. If you want five platforms, that is a bigger budget or a smaller ambition, and we will say which.
- ✗We will not take the work if the offer is the problemIf the product, pricing or website is what is stopping enquiries, posting more will not fix it. We will tell you that before taking a retainer, even though it costs us the retainer.
Where to Start
Send us your profile links and your website. On one call we will tell you which platform is worth your effort, what your last ten posts were trying to do, and what we would stop. If the honest recommendation is that you need a better website and a founder posting on LinkedIn rather than a social media retainer, that is what you will hear.
Social Media Marketing Questions, Answered
How much does social media marketing cost per month in India?
Realistically, INR 15,000 to 25,000 a month for one platform done properly, INR 30,000 to 60,000 for two platforms with video and community management, and INR 70,000 upward where social is a primary channel with paid campaigns alongside. Ad spend is separate and goes straight to the platform. Below about INR 10,000 a month the arithmetic does not work: after design and writing there are no hours left for strategy or replies, so you get a filled feed and nothing else.
How many posts should a business publish per week?
Two to three good posts a week beats daily filler for almost every business we work with. For context, Rival IQ found the median company across 2,100 brands posts about 4.5 times a week on Instagram and still earns engagement from only 0.36 percent of its followers, so volume is clearly not the lever. The right number is the highest one you can sustain for twelve months without the quality dropping, which for most small teams is eight to twelve posts a month. Three months of excellent weekly posts beats six weeks of daily posts followed by silence.
Which platforms should a B2B company use?
LinkedIn first, and often LinkedIn only. For most Indian B2B businesses the honest ranking is: the founder posting under their own name on LinkedIn, then the company LinkedIn page, then everything else a distant third. Instagram earns its place if your work is visual, for example manufacturing process, interiors, healthcare facilities or product. Facebook is usually a local discovery and review surface rather than a content channel. X and YouTube are only worth it with a specific reason and someone to own them. If an agency proposes all five, ask which buyers are on each.
Do you handle paid social ads too?
Yes, at Full tier or as a separate engagement. Paid social is a genuinely different discipline from organic: audience building, creative testing, offer design and daily optimisation. Ad spend is billed by the platform directly to you and we do not mark it up or take a percentage, because a percentage model rewards an agency for spending more of your money. If you need enquiries this month, paid is the right answer and we will say so rather than selling you an organic retainer. See also Google Ads and PPC.
Will social media actually bring us enquiries?
Sometimes directly, more often indirectly, and it depends heavily on your category. Direct enquiries from organic social are common for D2C, retail, clinics, interiors and anything visual with a local catchment. For most B2B, social works as corroboration: a buyer who found you elsewhere checks whether you look competent before calling, and that is a real job even though it will not show up as a social conversion. If someone promises you a specific number of monthly leads from organic posting, ask them to put it in the contract and watch what happens.
Do we need to be on every platform?
No, and trying is the most common way this budget gets wasted. The same money spent on one platform produces better creative, actual community management and enough data to learn something. Our platform step works by subtraction: we start from all of them and remove the ones your buyers are not on or you cannot sustain. Most clients finish with one or two. A dormant profile is worse than no profile, so if you are abandoning a channel, we will tell you to post a final note and leave the contact details accurate.
Who writes the captions and makes the creatives?
We do, both. Captions are written for the platform and the pillar, with a point and somewhere to lead rather than a block of hashtags. Creatives are designed on one template system so posts accumulate into recognition. What we need from you is subject matter: a fifteen minute call a month, or voice notes, is usually enough to produce content that sounds like your business rather than like an agency guessing.
Do you handle comments and DMs?
At Standard and Full, yes, within an agreed response window, with genuine enquiries routed to you immediately rather than sitting in an inbox. This matters more than most clients expect: unanswered comments and DMs are the most common leak we find in an existing account, and in several audits the business had real enquiries sitting unread for weeks. At Starter tier publishing is included but community management is not, and we say so clearly rather than quietly leaving it out.
How long before we see results?
Three months to know whether the content direction is right, six to judge whether the channel is earning its cost. Month one is setup and baseline, month two usually looks flat, and month three is the first point where saves and shares reveal which pillar is working. Anything that spikes earlier is almost always a giveaway or a one-off reel, neither of which repeats. We build a formal month six review into the engagement precisely so the question can be asked honestly.
Should the founder post, or the company page?
For B2B, the founder, by a wide margin. People follow and trust people, and a founder posting under their own name reaches their network and the networks beyond it, while a company page reaches a fraction of its own followers. The trade-off is that it needs the founder’s time, typically two to three hours a month with us handling the drafting, structure and scheduling. That is an inconvenient recommendation for us to make, because it is a smaller engagement than running a company page. It is still the right one. See LinkedIn personal branding.
Do you work with influencers?
Yes, at Full tier, and selectively. Micro influencers with genuinely engaged audiences in a specific niche usually outperform large accounts with bought followings, and they cost a fraction as much. We check engagement quality and audience location before recommending anyone, because a large share of Indian influencer audiences are inactive or outside the relevant market. We will not arrange paid posts without disclosure, which is both the law and the thing that makes them work.
Is buying followers ever a good idea?
No. It inflates the one number you are being judged on while destroying the audience data every later decision relies on, and the platforms are reasonably good at detecting it, which puts the account at risk. It also skews your engagement rate downward permanently, since engagement is measured against follower count, so a bought audience makes every future post look worse than it is. If your competitor has 80,000 followers and 20 likes a post, you are looking at the result.
What do you report each month?
Two pages. What we published, what it produced, what we are changing, and what we recommend stopping. Tracked link clicks and traceable enquiries sit at the top. Follower growth is listed because you will want to see it, but it is not the headline and we will not pretend it is an outcome. You also keep full access to the native analytics on every platform, so you can check anything yourself rather than take our word for it.
Do you work with clients outside Delhi NCR or outside India?
Yes. We are a social media marketing agency in West Delhi, based in Vikaspuri, so if you would rather sit down with a social media manager in New Delhi than deal with an agency over email, that is available. We meet clients in person across Delhi, Gurugram, Noida and Faridabad, and work remotely with clients elsewhere in India as well as the UAE, UK, USA, Canada, Singapore and Australia. For overseas work, time zone matters more than location: our hours overlap comfortably with the Gulf and Europe and workably with North America.
What do you need from us to start?
Admin access to your existing profiles, your logo and brand files if they exist, a list of your three or four most profitable services, and a named person on your side who can approve content within two working days. The approval bottleneck is the single most common reason social retainers underperform. Fifteen minutes of your subject matter knowledge a month, by call or voice note, is the other thing that makes the difference between content that sounds like you and content that sounds like an agency.

Send Us Your Last Ten Posts and We Will Tell You What They Were For
Send us your profile links and we will tell you on one call what your last ten posts were trying to achieve, whether the platform is right for your buyers, and what we would stop doing. Sometimes the honest answer is that you need fewer posts and a better website.
