Almost nobody in this industry publishes prices. I understand why. Every project is different, scope moves, and a number on a website invites comparison you cannot control.
The problem is that it leaves buyers guessing. I have sat across from founders who thought a brand refresh cost INR 15,000 and others who assumed it started at INR 10 lakh. Both were making decisions on no information.
So here are realistic market ranges for India in 2026. These are ranges across the market, not our rate card, and any serious agency will quote based on your actual scope. USD figures are approximate and move with the exchange rate.
In short
- A refresh at an established studio typically costs INR 75,000 to 3,50,000, which is where most Indian SMEs sit.
- A full rebrand starts higher because of naming, trademark, migration and communication work.
- Rollout usually costs about as much as the design. Budget for both.
- The most expensive logo is the one you buy twice.
Brand Refresh: Market Ranges
Tier 1: Freelancer or template service
INR 10,000 to 50,000 (USD 120 to 600)
You get a redrawn logo and perhaps a colour palette. Usually one person, limited strategy, few file formats. Workable if all you need is a cleaner logo and you already know what you want. Risky if you expect a system you can hand to a printer and a web developer.
Tier 2: Established small or mid-sized studio
INR 75,000 to 3,50,000 (USD 900 to 4,200)
This is where most Indian SMEs and mid-market companies land, and where the work usually makes commercial sense. Expect a short strategy phase, a properly redrawn identity, colour and typography systems, brand guidelines, and application across your core materials such as stationery, a company profile or catalogue, and templates. Senior people generally do the work.
Tier 3: Large agency or consultancy
INR 5,00,000 to 25,00,000 and above (USD 6,000 to 30,000 and above)
Research, stakeholder workshops, multiple concept routes, full guideline documents, and rollout management across regions. Appropriate for large corporates and groups with several business units. Substantially over-scoped for a company doing a few crores in revenue.
| Tier | Brand refresh | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Freelancer or template | INR 10,000 to 50,000 USD 120 to 600 |
A redrawn logo, few file formats, no system |
| Established studio | INR 75,000 to 3,50,000 USD 900 to 4,200 |
Strategy input, full identity system, guidelines, core applications |
| Large agency | INR 5,00,000 to 25,00,000+ USD 6,000 to 30,000+ |
Research, workshops, multiple routes, rollout management |
Full Rebrand: Market Ranges
A rebrand costs more because it includes work a refresh does not: naming, trademark search and filing support, migration planning and a communication rollout.
- Small business rebrand: INR 1,50,000 to 5,00,000 (USD 1,800 to 6,000)
- Mid-market rebrand: INR 5,00,000 to 15,00,000 (USD 6,000 to 18,000)
- Large corporate rebrand: INR 20,00,000 upwards (USD 24,000 upwards)
Add naming separately if you need it. Professional naming work, including availability and trademark screening, typically runs INR 75,000 to 4,00,000 (USD 900 to 4,800) depending on how many markets and classes you need cleared.
The Costs Nobody Quotes You
Design fees are the part everyone compares. The rollout is the part that surprises people.
- Signage replacement: INR 15,000 to 3,00,000 depending on size, material and number of locations
- Reprinting stationery and packaging: often INR 25,000 to 2,00,000, and much more if you carry printed inventory
- Website updates or rebuild: INR 40,000 to 6,00,000 depending on whether the site is refreshed or rebuilt
- Vehicle branding: INR 5,000 to 25,000 per vehicle
- Trademark filing: statutory fees per class, plus professional fees if you use an attorney
- Uniforms, merchandise and internal material
On a mid-sized rebrand, rollout frequently costs as much as the design work. Budget for it at the start, or you will end up with a new identity applied to half the business, which looks worse than not changing anything.
Five Things That Move Your Quote
1. How many applications you need
A logo alone is one number. A logo plus catalogue, packaging, website, signage and templates is another. Scope drives price far more than the logo itself.
2. Whether strategy is included
Positioning, audience work and messaging add cost. They also make the design decisions defensible rather than a matter of taste. For established businesses this is usually worth paying for.
3. How many decision-makers are involved
A single owner approving work is cheap. A committee of six with different opinions is expensive, because the rounds multiply. Agencies price for this whether or not they say so.
4. Timeline
Compressed timelines cost more, because they displace other work. If you have three months, say so. If you need it in three weeks, expect a premium or a reduced scope.
5. Seniority
Who actually does the work is the biggest hidden variable between two similar-looking quotes. Ask directly.
What You Should Expect for the Money
Any serious refresh should deliver, at minimum:
- Logo files in vector formats, in colour, single colour and reversed versions
- A defined colour palette with print and digital values
- Typography choices you can legally license and use on your website
- Brand guidelines covering spacing, minimum sizes and misuse
- Application to at least your most-used materials
- Full ownership of final files and source artwork
If a quote does not include ownership of source files, treat it as incomplete regardless of the price.
How to Set Your Own Budget
A rough rule that has held up well for Indian SMEs: if your brand is directly involved in winning customers, and you are competing for work against better-presented competitors, a refresh in the INR 1,00,000 to 3,00,000 range usually pays for itself within a year through better conversion and less discounting. Below INR 50,000 you are buying a logo, not a brand system. Above INR 5,00,000 you should be getting strategy, research and a full rollout plan, and you should ask what exactly justifies the difference.
The worst outcome is not spending too much or too little. It is spending twice, which is what happens when a business buys a cheap logo, uses it for eighteen months, then redoes the whole exercise properly.
How to Compare Two Quotes Fairly
When two proposals arrive with very different numbers, put them side by side and compare only these lines: how many concept directions are included, how many rounds of refinement, whether strategy is part of the scope, which applications are covered, whether brand guidelines are delivered, who does the work, and whether source files transfer to you.
Nine times out of ten the price gap explains itself within five minutes. A quote that looks expensive often includes strategy, guidelines and six applications. A quote that looks cheap often covers a logo and two file formats, with everything else billed later. The cheap quote is not dishonest, it is simply answering a smaller question than you asked.
Also ask what happens if you need changes after delivery. Some studios include a support window, others charge from the first email. Over a year, that difference can be worth more than the gap in the original quotes.
When to Wait Instead of Spending
There are times when the right answer is to hold the money. If your business model is still changing, if you are about to add a product line that might redefine what you do, or if you are in the middle of a funding round that could change ownership, a refresh done now may need redoing in a year.
In those situations, spend a small amount on the things that cannot go wrong: a clean website, a decent company profile and consistent use of what you already have. Save the identity work for when the business has stopped moving.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why do branding quotes vary so much for the same request?
Because the word branding covers anything from a single logo to a full strategy and rollout programme. Two quotes that look similar often include very different deliverables, seniority and refinement rounds. Compare line by line rather than on the headline number.
Is a cheap logo ever a sensible choice?
Sometimes. A very early-stage business testing an idea may be better off spending little and revisiting the brand once the model is proven. The mistake is using a cheap logo for years while trying to sell to serious buyers.
Should the payment be staged?
Yes. A common structure is an advance to start, a payment at concept approval and a balance on final delivery. Staged payments protect both sides and keep the project moving.
Does a refresh include the website?
Usually not by default. Website design is normally quoted separately because the effort depends on the number of pages and features. Ask for it to be included in the proposal if you want one number.
How much should we budget for rollout?
As a planning figure, assume rollout will cost roughly what the design work costs, and more if you have multiple locations, vehicles or printed inventory.
Are these prices specific to Delhi NCR?
They are broad Indian market ranges. Metro agencies often sit at the higher end and smaller-city studios lower, but the gap has narrowed as most work is now delivered remotely.
